TECNO has launched a special edition of its POVA 8 Pro 5G, built with Italian lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini. The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition was introduced at the beginning of September. It results in a phone in a black-and-red design with matching software.
If you want a phone that doesn’t look like everyone else, this one is worth a look. It is worth noting that Tonino Lamborghini is a lifestyle brand, not the car manufacturer, but its design style shows up all over the device. The partnership first appeared at MWC 2026 in March as a multi-year deal between the two brands.
A design built around black and red
The back of the phone is where the Tonino Lamborghini influence stands out. The back panel is black with red accents, and it uses two stacked layers. Reflective structures between the layers make hidden red details appear and disappear as the light changes. TECNO says the layers sit at slightly different heights, giving the back a three-dimensional look.
A vertical red line that the company calls the “Pulse Line” runs through the middle. It also has a hexagonal pattern surrounding the Signature Shield, and a metallic Tonino Lamborghini logo completes the whole look. The camera area gets red trim, and the entire phone is 7.39 mm thin.
Next to the cameras is the Alive Matrix Display, a small light display on the back. It shows a Tonino Lamborghini “L” effect when you touch the phone. It can also display custom effects for notifications, which helps when the phone is face down.
The software matches the hardware. TECNO says it spent almost four months on a custom black-and-red theme. Icons have a glass-like look, and the phone has its own boot animation and ringtone. Live wallpapers and a reworked lock screen carry the same style.
The accessories follow the same color scheme. They include a braided cable, a custom charger and a case with a carbon fiber texture.
Performance

Underneath the styling, the hardware matches the regular POVA 8 Pro 5G. This is not surprising as this is mainly a design edition, not an entirely brand new device. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chip, paired with a separate TECNO graphics chip built for games. TECNO claims up to 144 frames per second in games like PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The phone also packs a large vapor chamber that helps keep the phone cool during long sessions.
The screen is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, which means smoother scrolling and gameplay. TECNO lists a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. The company also says that the touchscreen will continue to work if your fingers are wet or greasy.
The phone comes in versions with up to 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage. It runs TECNO’s HiOS 16 on Android 16, and TECNO promises two major Android upgrades and three years of security patches.
Durability also receives attention. The front glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. TECNO lists IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings for dust and water resistance, and an SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance certification.
The phone also packs several AI tools. AI YouTube Summary turns a copied video link into notes. All-scenario noise cancellation cleans voices on calls. In select markets, an AI Health feature estimates vital signs such as heart rate from a facial scan. TECNO states that it is for reference only and is not a medical device.
Buyers also get three years of free 256GB cloud storage. In selected markets, there is a three-month Google AI Plus trial with 2TB of storage.
Cameras & Battery

The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with optical image stabilization to reduce blur. It also offers 2x lossless zoom. An 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 13MP selfie camera round out the setup. AI LightMaster 2.0 reduces flares, reflections and shadows in photos.
The battery is 6,500mAh with 45W charging. TECNO says it should retain more than 80 percent of its health after 2,000 full charges. That works out to about six years of use, by the company’s math.
Prices and availability
Prices vary slightly by region and configuration, but it generally falls between $400 and $550 USD. The phone is available directly through TECNO Mobile retail outlets and official flagship stores in its primary launch markets. These include Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
