The scariest part of the scary season is the Pixel 10a price hike

The Google Pixel 10a is yet another smartphone with a price increase months after launch due to the increase in the cost of manufacturing components, specifically RAM, as the RAM crisis continues and causes price increases worldwide for everything from phones to laptops.

When Google released the Pixel 10a earlier this year, it started at a base price of $499.99 for the 128GB model. This was the same price for the Pixel 9a when it launched as well, only it never went up in price after it launched, it only continued to drop in price as more and more discounts were made available.

The Pixel 10a is one of several phones to get price hikes this week on its own. Just today it was reported that the Galaxy A series phones have increased in price, and reports from today and yesterday indicate that the prices of the Galaxy S26 family of devices will increase in price in many regions. Even NVIDIA is now charging more for its products, with the SHIELD TV Pro costing $100 more, bringing it to $299.99.

The Google Pixel 10a price increase brings it to a starting price of $599.99

After launching the Pixel 11 series at higher prices in August, Google has now officially increased the price of the Pixel 10a by $100. Its base model that comes with 128GB now costs $599.99, moving it closer to a mid-range flagship tier than a mid-range phone in terms of cost.

Google has not announced the price increase nor has it issued any official statements about it. It simply changed the price on the website and left it at that. This week’s price increases are only a small number of them, if you count every device that has increased since the beginning of the year, and with the RAM crisis showing no signs of slowing down, customers can expect more of it.
