What is Instagram Reels?
Instagram Reels is an initiative of Facebook (Now Meta), to offer a similar feature to Tiktok, announced in August 2020. Where you can create short videos, up to 60 seconds, earlier the limit was only 15 seconds, later Instagram increased the limit. Customization options
- Adjust video length – There are 3 video lengths supported for reels ie 15 seconds, 30 seconds and 60 seconds. You can switch to set your desired video length.

- Video Speed - You can adjust the video speed, and slow it down to as slow as 0.3x fast forward to a maximum of 3x.
- Reels Video Layout – You can choose from 3 video layouts, for an effect from front to back, or show a place at different intervals of time.
- Align – This will help you shoot several videos from the same angle and make your rolls more professional
- Auto Video Timer – You can set the timer to automatically stop recording, to shoot multiple clips to fit within the 60 second roll duration.
- Add effects/filters – You can also add various trendy filters or effects to add a magical touch to your reels.
Once you are done with this pre-shoot customization, we will move to the post-shoot customizations which will also help you to make popular roles.
- Adjust Volume Mix – You can adjust the volume of the original video Audi, together with the music added to the previous screen.
- Add Voiceover – If you want to add your vote, you can do it from here. You can apply various cool voice effects to the camera roll audio, or your voice-over audio.

How to publish reel on Instagram?
Now that we’ve shot/uploaded, and finished customizing the reel, it’s time to add the finishing touches to our reel so we can post it on Instagram.
- Photo Cover Image – Adding a cover to your reel is an important step, because it is the first impression of the reel, everyone on Instagram will see this first, and will make someone click and watch your reel. You can add an already edited cover photo from your phone’s gallery, or you can choose any frame from your roll.
- Add Caption – After the cover image, the next step is to add a caption to your reel, you can enter whatever you want. Make sure it is relevant to the content of your reel to help the audience understand it easily. Add relevant tags to help Instagram’s algorithm understand the content of your reel and reach a larger set of audiences.
- Crop profile picture – You can choose to display your reel in your feed with your photos and videos. Just enable the toggle to do so, and you can adjust how the cover image (that you added earlier) should appear in your feed. Make sure to set it correctly, because once you set it, you can’t change it once the reel is posted.
- tag people – Here you can tag people you are on your reel, making it easy to reach them and view their profiles.

- add space – You can add location to your roles so that they come under a search for the specific location.
- Rename Audio – If you want to change the name of your reel’s audio, you can do so here, but it can only be changed once.
- Recommended on Facebook – You should keep this toggle, it will recommend your Instagram reel to Facebook, with your Instagram user ID. You must have a Facebook account for this.
- Advanced Settings (Paid Partnership) – This is for creators and brands. This is to let your audience know that the shared content is done in partnership and for something in return.
- share – Now that everything is ready, just hit the share button to post your reel.
