Motorola received the message from unhappy North American fans – Signature 27 is their answer

As many of you have heard by now, Motorola recently launched its new flagship, the Signature 27. This handset actually seems like a real high-end device, and it was announced at Snapdragon Summit 2026 as one of the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6-powered devices.

With that said, the folks over at Android Central conducted an interview with Motorola to give us more insight into the Signature 27 launch. Nicole Hagen was interviewed, the executive director and head of Global Product Marketing at Motorola.

The Motorola Signature, the predecessor of this phone, and a number of other devices were simply regional launches for Motorola. That phone, for example, didn’t make its way to North America, while it arrived in Europe and Latin America.

Motorola received the message from North American fans, and the Signature 27 is the company’s response

Hagen says Motorola got the message loud and clear. She said: “We heard you, we heard media, we heard analysts, and I’ll be honest, we even heard from a lot of customers in North America on kind of popular feedback forums that they were disappointed.”

To which she added: “We felt that this year we have the right product with the right specifications, with the right capabilities and experiences, and we think that this product resonates really well with users looking for a premium flagship phone and maybe something a little different from what they have been offered in recent years.

She even added that some Signature devices registered in the US were purchased in other regions. We’re not sure how much, but it seems to be enough to signal demand for the phone in the States, at least based on Motorola’s reaction.

Motorola hasn’t really launched a true top-of-the-line smartphone in North America for a while. Well, at least when it comes to regular phones. This will be available in the states though.

Motorola’s last quarter was hugely successful

Hagen also said that Motorola had its best quarter ever in terms of revenue, referring to the last quarter. “15% year over year, and the majority of that growth, of course, was driven by premium products,” that was another signal for the company.

Hagen also added: “What I’m most excited about is that the chipset opens up a few things for us.” It was also said that “One of the big pillars for this franchise is an incredible camera system, both hardware and software driven, with this common thread of having an incredible global platform that supports it.”

The Motorola Signature 27, as a reminder, has a 50-megapixel main camera with the Sony LYTIA 910 sensor, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. We still don’t have all the details.

Hagen also talked about Motorola’s Bang & Olufsen partnership and some other tidbits in the interview, if you want to watch the whole thing.
