ATTACK SHARK announced the R5 TURBOA new flagship of its carbon fiber gaming mouse line, available from October 23, 2026. It succeeds the R5 ULTRA with a newer sensor and chip, 8K polling on both wired and wireless connections, and optical switches. It also adds a new Dune color palette in addition to black and white. ATTACK SHARK has not yet announced a price.

Sensor and Nordic chip upgrades

The R5 TURBO keeps the PixArt PAW3950MAX Sensor family but pushes the specifications to 60,000 DPI, 750 IPS and 60G acceleration. The R5 ULTRA is listed at 42,000 DPI, 650 IPS and 50G. The biggest change is the controller: the TURBO moves to a Nordic nRF54LM20 MCU, replaces the Nordic 52840 chip in the ULTRA.

ATTACK SHARK quotes a wireless click latency of 0.168 ms from internal tests, versus the 0.2 ms response time it lists for the ULTRA. For the brand’s previous dual-8K model, check out our ATTACK SHARK V8 story.

8K cable and wireless

The R5 ULTRA offers 8K wireless through a custom receiver but only 1K via its cable. The TURBO supports 8K polling in both wired and wireless modes, with a Shark-Fin 8K receiver. It still offers tri-mode connectivity via a cable, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth.

Its 290 mAh battery is rated for up to 300 hours at a 1K polling rate.

Shell, switches and colors

The carbon fiber composite shell weighs about 43g, give or take 3g. The ULTRA uses OMRON micro switches rated for 100 million clicks, while the TURBO moves on Omron optical switches with the same rating, plus a TTC Golden Scroll Encoder.

Should you wait for the TURBO?

If you want the lowest wireless latency and 8K over a cable, then R5 TURBO is the one to watch when it goes on sale on October 23rd. The R5 ULTRA remains on sale now and shares the carbon fiber design. You can follow the launch and check the current ULTRA listing on the official ATTACK SHARK website.
