Motorola’s first wide foldable is coming, and we now have its specifications to share with you. Before we do, though, it’s worth noting that Motorola already confirmed the device’s existence during the iPhone Duo launch event. But that was only a silhouette of the device.
Moreover, we have already shared some sketches of the device recently. Now it’s time to check the specifications of the phone as I’m sure many of you are interested in checking these out.
This phone is known internally as ‘razr flex’
According to our sources, Motorola’s wide foldable is internally referred to as ‘razr flex’ and is codenamed ‘Parker’. With that being said, let’s get to the specs, shall we?
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will power the phone, the same chip that powers the Motorola Razr Fold. It is clocked up to 3.8GHz. This chip is supported by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The storage will not be expandable.
Our source mentions only one storage option for the device. That’s a bit strange, because we usually get more and more storage options. So it is possible that there will be more than one storage variant, but we can only confirm the 256GB storage option.
Motorola’s first wide foldable will have powerful specifications and will be smaller than the competition
The main display on the phone will be a 6.92-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1728 x 2364 pixels. The refresh rate will be 165Hz, and that panel supports HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The cover display will measure 4.97 inches, and it will also be an OLED panel. The resolution here will be 1736 x 1140.
A 5,000mAh battery is included: a dual-cell battery. We’re still not sure about wireless charging, but full-speed Qi2 charging is said to be included, so 25W wireless charging. USB-PD wireless charging will be on board though.
It comes with IP48 and IP49 certifications
Motorola’s first wide foldable will be IP48 and IP49 certified for ingress protection, and it will support WI-Fi 7. Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio will also be on board. The phone will have a physical nano SIM card slot, but it will also support an eSIM.
Android 17 will come pre-installed out of the box, while a power/lock button on the right side will double as a fingerprint scanner. There is also a dedicated AI physical key on the phone.
What about the cameras? We get two of them on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera is supported by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit. You’ll be able to get up to 30x digital zoom with the main snapper, by the way.
The wide foldable Motorola will measure 110 x 149 x 5.8 mm when unfolded, and 110 x 76 x 12.6 mm when folded. The phone will weigh 215 grams.
Two colors are offered
We also have the color variants in which they arrive. It is available in the colors PANTONE Coriander and PANTONE Dark Botanical Garden. The launch target, at the moment, is mid-December, but that could change.

This phone can directly compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the iPhone Duo. It will, unfortunately, be thicker than both of these phones. 12.6mm looks quite a bit thicker compared to the 9.7mm of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It was to be expected that it would be thicker, but not that much.
It will be a little heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and much lighter than the iPhone Duo
When it comes to weight, its 215 gram weight is higher than the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s 201 gram. However, it will be noticeably lighter than the iPhone Duo, as Apple’s first (wide) foldable weighs 254 grams. That’s currently the heaviest wide folding, and it’s not even close.
It’s also a little strange that Motorola opted for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, considering that this phone is coming at the end of the year, but there are several reasons that are the case. One of the reasons is the price, very likely. Using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 gives Motorola more room to work price-wise.
