Today we are talking about an exciting smart cleaning device called Haier Tabot and I am sure it will be attractive to some of you. It’s no wonder we live in a crazy tech world and we’ve all wondered about the cleaning robots that were in Star Trek; floats effortlessly across a room, leaving no trace of debris behind.
Similarly, many technology enthusiasts are surprised by the development taking place in the robotic vacuum cleaner industry in recent years. These ‘Roombas’ and ‘RoboRocks’ have the ability to rid a room of dust without any human effort at all.
However, Tabot, a sub-brand of the famous Haier company, has come up with an innovation that is on its way to ‘spice up’ the industry and make our lives even easier. Their original goal was to raise $5000. This goal was met (to be precise) with massive funding of more than $400,000. They are currently in the production phase of their prototype.
Functionality of hair tabot
Haier Tabot claims that it has “better performance than 99% of the robot vacuum on the market”. It comes with two functions, mopping and vacuuming. The vacuum robot is perfect for anyone who wants a clean room; however, the focus audience is on individuals who have a lot of hair (from dogs, clothes, heads, etc.) on the ground.
It comes with a built-in ‘anti-winding blade roller brush’ that cuts all long hairs before they are sucked into the dust compartment. When combined with the powerful 3200PA Ultra-Strong suction, which “can easily collect metal balls”, the robot vacuum and mop seem like a perfect powerhouse for cleaning your home.
Vacuuming is not enough to remove all germs, bacteria and dust from a room. That’s why Hairer Tabot’s robot cleaner also comes with an inbuilt mop functionality. It has 230ml of water in the tank, which is enough to clean large rooms. The company claims that they have installed 3 different types of safety mechanisms to prevent any leak from happening.
Artificial Intelligence Incorporated Movement
The robot cleaner moves in a Y-shaped pattern that emulates real life cleaning and “makes your room super clean”.
It has a laser scanning technology (LDS) that is also placed in many Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) such as the drones used by the military in several countries. It works by doing a two-dimensional analysis of the space and creating a map of the layout of the owner’s house.
Once the home map is ready, it will appear on the Haier Tabot Companion app on your phone. You can then change the map to make ‘no-go zones’ if necessary.
Further calculations are done by Simultaneous Localization and Mapping Technology (SLAM), which creates the shortest way to effectively and quickly clean a room.
The robot also has fantastic smart features such as its ability to slide under sofas and climb over small obstacles. Its best feature is a cliff sensor that prevents it from falling off your stairs or roof. If the robot feels low on battery, it can return to simply return to its self-charging port.
Is this the future?
Some people believe that cleaning is like gardening, a calming task that cleanses the mind. They claim that automating this takes away the calming effect.
However, the above are a minority. The statistics all point in one direction – we are moving towards a world run by automation.
People buy robot vacuum cleaners like the one from Haier Tabot. The vacuum robot is a testimony to technological progress and an allusion to a future where technology will flourish. If you are interested in buying one, there is a crowdfunding campaign on the IndieGoGo website and the Haier Tabot robot starts from $469 USD.
