Recently, Apple launched the iOS 27.2 update with a bunch of new features. To update, check your Settings > General > Software Update.
First, Siri AI is getting two big updates, one of which is great for French Canadians. Siri AI is now available in beta in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Although it doesn’t specifically mention Canadian French, you’ll see ‘Ma copine’, not ‘Ma blonde.’
Siri AI can remember past conversations now, so you can ask Siri about something you told her before. It can also pull information from multiple sources, including photos attached to messages, calendar event attendees, and even your voicemails. That’s right, voicemails! You can now say “Hey Siri, summarize my last voicemail.” However, it’s not entirely clear how Siri can access voicemails, so we’ve asked Apple about it and will update this post when we know more.
Suggestions and messages allow you to take actions in apps like calendars and reminders based on the context of conversations.
FaceTime now supports adding a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call. Plus, you can use Dual Capture to stream from your front and rear cameras during FaceTime calls.
Shared Albums in Photos now lets users edit captions and comments to avoid duplicate photos and can show a reminder before an album expires.
Multiview is coming to iOS, so you can now watch up to four live sports streams at the same time, and it works with events coming to Apple TV.
And Apple TV profiles come to iOS, iPadOS and the web. So you can now set up unique profiles for family and friends who don’t have an Apple account; they have their own custom experience, and you can manage content ratings for children.
For iPhone Duo owners, the Apple Pencil (USB-C) now supports iPhone Duo. The Edge Light video effect also comes to the duo, so it illuminates your face like a ring light when you’re on a video call.
