LG redefines gaming: UltraGear evo premiered at CES 2026

With the new premium gaming brand UltraGear evo, LG Electronics is at CES 2026 a monitor line-up that is clearly aimed at ambitious players. The series combines high resolution, extreme refresh rates and, for the first time, 5K AI upscaling technology that works directly in the monitor.

The portfolio initially includes three models: the LG 39GX950B, LG 27GM950B and the particularly large ones LG 52G930B. LG relies on a mix of OLED, MiniLED and UltraWide panels, with diagonals from 27 to 52 inches.

The core of the new series is a specially developed on-device AI that analyzes image content in real time and upscales it to 5K. The advantage: gamers benefit from extremely sharp images without upgrading their PC hardware. In addition, the AI also dynamically adapts the sound to the game events.

OLED with dual mode for maximum flexibility

The 39-inch model 39GX950B uses Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology and offers high brightness, accurate colors and long panel life. The 21:9 display is slightly curved (1500R), reaches 142 PPI and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified. The dual mode is particularly exciting: users can switch between 5K2K at 165 Hz or extremely fast 330 Hz at WFHD – with a response time of just 0.03 ms.

MiniLED world first in 5K

With the 27GM950B, LG is launching the world’s first 5K MiniLED gaming monitor. Thanks to 2,304 local dimming zones and “Zero Optical Distance” technology, blooming effects are greatly reduced. The monitor reaches up to 1,250 nits peak brightness, supports VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and also offers dual mode (165 Hz at 5K or 330 Hz at QHD).

Large format ultrawide game

The highlight of the series is the 52G930B, currently the largest 5K2K gaming monitor in the world. The extremely wide panoramic display with 1000R curvature covers almost the entire field of view and operates at up to 240 Hz. The VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification guarantees high contrast and vivid colors.

With UltraGear evo, LG clearly positions gaming monitors in the high-end segment and combines resolution, speed and AI technology in a form that is unique to this day.
