Seven devices from Samsung are now included in the rollout of the October 2026 Android security patch. The devices in question are the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy A57, and the Galaxy Watch 9.
Seven devices from Samsung will get the October 2026 update, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and more
Interestingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Watch 9 will all start receiving the update in South Korea first. For the Galaxy S24 series, India is first in line, while users in Europe and the Middle East will get the Galaxy A57 first.
These updates will be rolled out to more markets in the coming days and weeks. It usually happens pretty quickly, so don’t worry. Once it arrives in your region, however, note that it will roll out in stages, so it may take a while for your phone to receive it.
This update brings with it 62 security fixes, as Samsung detailed earlier this month. There are 45 security fixes from Google included, along with 17 fixes provided by Samsung.
Of all the fixes that Google has pushed out, 9 of them are marked as “critical”. There are also 33 fixes for high-risk issues, and 3 for moderate-risk issues. Samsung has pushed out 10 fixes for high-risk issues and 7 for moderate risk.
There are no new features included in the update
This update apparently does not contain any new features. Well, at least that was the case for the October 2026 update on other devices. So don’t expect anything like that on any of these devices.
Your device will let you know when it’s time to update, but you can also check manually if you want. You can do this via Settings -> Software Update -> Check for Updates if you’re particularly impatient. It might help speed things up slightly.
