Tired of paying for streaming services you never watch just to get a phone plan feature you actually want? T-Mobile has good news for you! The carrier is rolling out new plans, called T-Mix, in early November to replace its old Experience lineup with a build-your-own perks system called Picks.
The benefits you choose range from streaming and gaming to food delivery, AI, satellite service, and phone discounts. But if you are satisfied with your existing plan, you can keep it.
What do the T-Mobile T-Mix plans cost, and what benefits can you choose?
T-Mix comes in three tiers: Standard, Plus and Load. Standard costs $55 per month for a line and includes a pick. More costs $75 and includes two picks. Loading costs $95 and includes three picks, each priced with AutoPay and before taxes and fees.
Each T-Mix plan comes with a fixed number of picks, which works like currency that you can spend on perks instead of being stuck with a pre-packaged set. You can spend picks on things like Netflix, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited, Xbox Game Pass, Apple Music, Google Gemini, DoorDash’s DashPass, or even a new phone.
You should also know that pricier benefits cost more picks. For example, Netflix Premium and ESPN Unlimited each run four picks, while basic options like ad-supported Netflix or DashPass only cost one.
What you should know before switching plans
Your plan and number of lines determine how many picks you get. Unused picks don’t reduce your bill, and you can’t buy extras without upgrading. As you add lines to your account, your total pick pool will also grow, but these picks will be shared across the entire account rather than assigned to each line separately.
Therefore, a standard plan with one line gets one pick. Meanwhile, a Loaded plan with four lines gets 11 picks to spend as the account holder wants. Picks are reset every 90 days, with a bonus annual window so you can exchange benefits as your needs change. Switching outside this window costs a fee, estimated to be between $10 and $15.
Since phones and benefits draw from the same pool, families upgrading multiple lines at once can quickly run out, especially with T-Mobile’s free third line down. Still, T-Mix can help you avoid paying for bundles you won’t use, but you have to choose carefully.
