Samsung has kept us waiting for a bigger Ultra battery for years, but a change may finally be on the horizon.
The Korean giant appears to have finalized the battery hardware, with details for the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra now appearing in South Korea’s security filings. Earlier, China’s 3C Records spotted the batteries (via GSMArena).
What do the certification records actually show?
Less than you hope. Korea’s product safety database, Safety Korea, lists two batteries labeled EB-BS958DBY and EB-BS957CBY. Both are manufactured by China-based Zhuhai CosMX Power Jinwan.
While the images in the records show the batteries, they do not reveal their capacities. These numbers come from China’s 3C certification, which lists the Galaxy S27 Ultra at 5,534 mAh and the S27 Pro at 5,087 mAh.
These are the rated capacities, or the minimum guaranteed capacities, of the cells used in the phones. The typical battery capacity brands advertise usually a little higher. For the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra, these capacities are believed to be 5,200 mAh and 5,700 mAh respectively.
Note that all of this is based on pre-production samples, so the final retail versions may differ.

What else should you expect from these phones?
The Pro is a new model with no predecessors to compare. However, the Ultra’s potential upgrade is significant. If the reported numbers hold, the battery capacity of the S27 Ultra could jump by 14% over the S26 Ultra.
Combined with a more efficient chipset, the larger battery can deliver significantly better endurance between charges. And yes, the early rumors of a 7,000 mAh battery now seem like a distant dream.
The charging speed looks set to remain steady. The same 3C filing lists 60W wired charging, compatible with the S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, 25W wireless charging using the Qi2 standard, which adds magnets for better alignment, is rumored but remains unconfirmed.
Expect the lineup to arrive in Q1 2027, possibly in January or February. Pricing details haven’t surfaced yet, but Samsung has already raised Galaxy S26 series prices mid-cycle.
