Breaking its usual tradition, Xiaomi just launched the Pro variants of its flagships last week: the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. There was no standard Xiaomi 18 this time around. However, rumors circulating on the internet claim that it will launch separately at an event in December. Before that, a new leak has now revealed the complete specifications of the Xiaomi 18.
Xiaomi 18 specifications leak reveals Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 power
According to tipster Panda is Bald, the standard Xiaomi 18 will get a dual 200MP rear camera, just like the Xiaomi 18 Pro sibling. This is a big upgrade over the Xiaomi 17, which just moved triple 50MP sensors. It could have a 1/1.28 inch 200MP primary camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. A 50MP ultra-wide lens could complete the rear camera setup.
The power of Xaomi 18 could be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. To remember, the Pro and Pro Max models have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. This allows Xiaomi’s standard Xiaomi 18 flagship to be a little cheaper than the Pro models.
6.4 inch display, 7,200mAh battery, and 100W fast charging
In addition, the Xiaomi 18 may sport a 6.4-inch M11 display with a 1.5K resolution. The tipster claims that it will pack a 7,200mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Although there is also wireless charging support, charging speeds are currently unavailable. Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t mention the RAM and storage options or other features the phone offers.
However, the tipster reiterates that the Xiaomi 18 will launch in December. It is not clear whether it will expand to global regions or remain exclusive to China. For what it’s worth, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will soon expand the Xiaomi 18 Pro to more regions outside of China this time around. This means that global regions can finally experience Xiaomi’s take on the rear display.
