Apple has just expanded its Self Service Repair program to cover some of its newest flagships, giving owners more ways to fix things themselves instead of going straight to an authorized service center.

According to 9to5Mac, the Self Service Repair Store now has genuine replacement parts and tools for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Mac Studio models with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, and Mac Mini models with M6 and M5 Pro chips. The program, which began in 2022, leaves eligible users in places like the US, Canada and Europe buy or rent official parts and tools, while following Apple’s detailed repair guide.

For the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the available parts include the back glass, battery, bottom speaker, rear camera, display, housing, front camera, logic board, main microphone, SIM tray, Taptic Engine and top speaker.

When you select a specific repair, you can see exactly which parts, tools and consumables you need and buy them individually. Optional tools cover everything from glue cutters and suction cups to nylon probes, glue removers, torque wrenches, and replacement screws.

One detail that stands out: the camera module for the iPhone 18 Pro series is priced at $249, the same as the previous generation, although the new models add a variable aperture system. If you return the original camera, you will receive a credit of $59.76, bringing the effective cost down to $189.24.

Mac Studio owners get a wider selection, including Thunderbolt ports, USB-C ports, fans, speakers, SSD modules, logic boards and power supplies. The Mac Mini list is shorter, covering fans, speakers, logic boards, batteries and power supplies.

This move continues Apple’s slow but steady push to support independent repairs. You still need specialized tools and some technical know-how (tool rental usually runs about $49 for seven days), but with genuine parts available, qualified users have a real option to keep their latest devices without a trip to the Genius Bar.
