EZVIZ HB90f Triple 3K kit launches in Australia with three lenses, solar power and no subscription fees

EZVIZ has launched its new HB90f Triple 3K Kit Outdoor Security Camera in Australia, which brings three 3K lenses, 360-degree coverage, AI-powered detection and solar charging into a single security camera. Designed primarily for larger homes and properties, the new camera aims to cover multiple outdoor areas without requiring multiple separate cameras or ongoing subscription fees.

The EZVIZ HB90f Triple 3K Kit is available through Harvey Norman for an RRP of A$669.95 and comes with an 8W solar panel and a 32GB microSD card for local video storage.

Unlike conventional outdoor cameras that typically rely on a single lens, the HB90f has three 3K lenses that work together to capture wider views while maintaining the ability to zoom in on distant activity. The camera supports up to 12x mixed zoom, which can be especially useful for monitoring long drives, large gardens, gates or even farmland. For homeowners with large properties, having the ability to view multiple areas with a single device sounds pretty good.

There is also an independent lens rotation. The upper lens and lower dual-lens assembly can rotate separately thanks to a triple-motor design. This means users can position the lenses to monitor different locations or focus them on the same area for additional detail. Then there is an Auto Patrol mode that moves the camera between predefined positions at scheduled intervals. Combined with its 360-degree coverage, the HB90f is designed to minimize blind spots without requiring constant manual adjustments.

The EZVIZ HB90f Triple 3K kit includes AI-powered human and vehicle detection, along with local familiar face detection. Instead of relying entirely on cloud processing, these features use onboard AI chips, allowing users to gain detection capabilities without paying a monthly subscription.

When the top wide-angle lens detects a person, the bottom lenses can automatically zoom and track their movements. Users can also tap a particular area in the wide camera view to examine it more closely using the tap-to-zoom feature.

For nighttime surveillance, the camera includes built-in spotlights that support color night vision. EZVIZ also uses balanced image exposure to maintain detail when parts of the scene are brightly lit while others remain in shadow.

Additional safety features include two-way communication, a built-in siren and red and blue warning lights that can be activated to discourage unwanted visitors.

Battery-powered security cameras are convenient to install, but one limitation is that many only record when motion is detected to save power. EZVIZ addresses this with its Always-On Video (AOV) 2.0 technology, which is designed to provide continuous recording during battery usage. During periods of low activity, the camera records at a low frame rate using a time-lapse approach. When an event is detected, it switches to full-frame-rate recording to capture more detail.

This is an interesting compromise between conventional motion-triggered recording and continuous recording, especially for a battery-operated camera. However, users should understand that footage captured during quiet periods will not have the same frame rate as event footage.

The camera is powered by a 10,400mAh rechargeable battery, supported by the included 8W solar panel. With enough sunlight and proper installation, the solar panel should help reduce the need for manual charging. Of course, actual charging performance depends on factors such as weather, panel positioning and how often the camera records activity.

The HB90f also features a weatherproof design for outdoor installation and supports both local and optional cloud storage. Those who prefer to avoid subscription fees can simply use the included microSD card.
