Samsung first announced its AI smart glasses in July and we even got some hands-on time with them. However, they are still nowhere to be seen – the latest rumor (not even official information) is that they will be launched in November. Now, thanks to SammyGuru, we can look at the different designs created by Samsung partners Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
Even better, there are finally some details about the hardware – the first announcement only mentions that the glasses will run Android XR on a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset. This chip is apparently paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The battery in the glasses can last up to 9 hours, which extends up to 72 hours with the charger.

These smart glasses do their job with a camera – there is a 12MP sensor capable of recording video at 3K 30fps – and using audio. There are four mics in total plus two open-ear speakers. The glasses work with Gemini AI (which is a multimodal AI, meaning it understands both photos and spoken commands). They can read out messages, do real-time translation, snap photos of a whiteboard and submit it to your Notes app, and more.
The glasses (but not the case) are IPX4 rated (basically, they will survive some rain). The glasses should work with any Android or iPhone, not just Galaxy devices. However, there may be some features that are Galaxy exclusive. There may also be some regional variations, eg support Naver Maps in South Korea.
Weight is reported as 41g with the standard lenses, although we imagine this could be a few grams depending on the specific design you choose.
Gentle Monster has designed six frames that are available in a total of sixteen versions with different color and lens combinations. You can see them above. Next is the other glasses brand that Samsung has tapped to design the glasses.

Warby Parker has three styles called Alden, Reid and Wren. The latter only comes in Jet Black, the others have several colors to choose from – Pine (dark green) and Saddle (dark red). Each of the three models can be supplied with clear or dark lenses for a total of 10 versions.
Well, “can be had” may prove to be misleading – apparently the Gentle Monster designs will be sold in South Korea and the US. However, the Warby Parker designs may only be available in the US, at least during the launch period. There is no word on other countries. When available, the glasses will be sold through Samsung Experience Stores and through the websites and stores of their respective designers.
