After years of focusing on more affordable phones and foldables in the US, Motorola will soon return to the traditional flagship phone space with the new “Motorola Signature 27”. Although the company is yet to reveal full details of the phone, we do know a few things: It’s powered by the just-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip for mobile. This is paired with Motorola’s ArcticMesh cooling system for better sustained performance. It will also be the first fruit of Motorola’s new partnership with Bang & Olufsen for premium audio. The camera system includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with periscope lens. The RF system includes six antennas. It will be available in two color/finish combinations: Pantone Coal Smoke in Tactical Weave, and Pantone Capulet Green in “a brushed textile-inspired finish”. Pricing and release dates have not been revealed, but Motorola promises to bring the phone to North America by the end of this year. Motorola produced a “Signature” flagship model last year, but didn’t bring it to the US.

$2000? Or more?
I love the look (especially the green) and feature set of this phone and absolutely want to try it. But at what cost?
If they keep the SD card and the headphone jack…
If they only keep the SD card and the headphone jack, that would be a big breakthrough. They could gain millions of additional customers who switch from other flagships that lack these features.
Wish they would bring back pop-up front-facing cameras
Or use under the screen… it’s so nuts to pay for a flagship phone with a beautiful screen that took out a hole punch. That and I’m having trouble imagining what a case would look like at the end of that camera hump.
