Price and availability

At the time of writing, the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is available for pre-order and will launch from November 11. With a rather hefty price tag of £1,499, it’s one of the more expensive phones on the market, although it’s worth noting that this is for the 512GB model.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at a slightly cheaper £1359/$1399.99 for its 256GB handset. If you want to upgrade to the 512GB model, you’ll need to spend a little over £1529/$1599.

Although both run on Android, the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra are powered by different processors. Powering the Find X10 Pro Max is Dimensity 9600 Pro which MediaTek hails as the “top smartphone chip for the agent era”. Dimensity 9600 Pro promises a faster and more responsive performance for such as multitasking, gaming and powering on-device AI.

In comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a customized version of Qualcomm’s 2026 flagship processor. Although this has since been succeeded by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s chip remains a brilliant performer.

During our time with the S26 Ultra, we found the phone felt fast and responsive, with apps opening instantly and games playing reliably too.

All three cameras of the Find X10 Pro Max are 200MP

There are quite a few differences between the Find X10 Pro Max and the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera setups. The Find X10 Pro Max is equipped with three rear lenses, which include a main, ultra-wide and telephoto – all of which are 200MP. Co-developed by Oppo and Hasselblad, the line-up promises realistic skin tones, 17-stop high-dynamic range cine-grade video and up to 6x lossless zoom as well.

Instead, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is equipped with four rear cameras, including a 200MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP periscope and 10MP telephoto. Most of us will find it hard to fault the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s line-up, with its main lens and zoom capability both undoubtedly the headline features. However, the cameras start to lag behind the competitors and it unfortunately does not represent the best on the market. Instead, the Find X9 Ultra currently holds the title of best camera phone, which means the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max has a lot to live up to.

Find X10 Pro Max has a bigger battery

Samsung has never been a brand to offer the biggest batteries, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is no different, with a capacity of just 5,000mAh. Even so, we still found the phone could see us through a day of use before running out.

However, if you consider that the Find X10 Pro Max is equipped with a strong 7150mAh cell, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is undoubtedly behind. With such a huge battery, the Find X10 Pro Max should easily see even power users through a full day, or even two, before needing a recharge.

Find X10 Pro Max supports many Oppo accessories

There are a few optional Oppo accessories sold separately, with the headline accessory undoubtedly being the Hasselblad teleconverter which changes the default zoom of the telephoto lens up to 10x. The teleconverter also allows for lossless cropping up to 40x zoom as well.

Next to the teleconverter is the Oppo Bubble, which is a mirror for the back of the phone to take better selfies with the rear camera.

Oppo AI vs Galaxy AI

Not surprisingly since they are 2026 flagship smartphones, both the Find X10 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra are equipped with many AI tools. Whether you should buy a smartphone purely for its AI capability is debatable. While both have really useful tools like translation, we wonder how often you reach for the AI-powered features.

However, both benefit from Google’s Gemini voice assistant, which is definitely one of the most reliable AI assistants we’ve tried.

Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra also includes a handful of photo editing tools that come in handy as well. For example, you can remove unwanted objects and Photo Assist which allows you to add photorealistic elements to images.

Early judgment

Both Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra have a lot going for them. While the Find X10 Pro Max benefits from a newer processor, a bigger battery and plenty of camera accessories, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is a solid all-rounder that most users will struggle to fault. Sure, its battery isn’t quite as strong, but it can still see you through a full day of work.
