Redmi K100 bags important certification confirms its charging number

A new Xiaomi 5G phone with the model number M786BC has passed 3C certification in China, and the listing shows support for 100W fast charging. The certification was issued on October 12, and tipster Digital Chat Station says the phone is the standard Redmi K100.

A 3C listing covers charging and model details, so you still don’t know anything about the chip, display or cameras.

Where the standard Redmi K100 fits

At the Redmi K100 Pro series launch event on August 11, Wei Siqi, general manager of Xiaomi’s China marketing department, laid out the complete product portfolio. In addition to the Redmi K100 Pro Max and Redmi K100 Pro, Wei said that the series will include a standard version and a gaming flagship. The M786BC listing is the first sign that the standard model will launch.

Xiaomi will launch the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max in China on the same day. Both phones support 100W wireless charging, so the standard Redmi K100 matches them on that front if certification details hold.

Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Group partner and president, who also runs the mobile phone division and the Xiaomi brand, said on Weibo that many flagship phones this year will use chips from the previous generation, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the Dimensity 9500. He added that the Redmi K100 series will definitely “be the best value.” We hope this remains true for the vanilla K100.

Xiaomi has not shared a launch date, price or full specifications for the standard Redmi K100. There’s also no word yet on the gaming flagship, so watch for more certifications and leaks.
