Samsung extends One UI 9 rollout to Galaxy A27

Samsung continues its One UI 9 rollout. This Android 17-based upgrade is now gradually expanding to the popular A-series mid-range models after the flagships and foldables. That includes the Galaxy A27, which is now getting the One UI 9 update in global regions, with Europe being the first. It should gradually expand to more regions.

Samsung’s One UI 9 update for Galaxy A27 expands to global markets

As a refresher, the phone originally received the update in South Korea last week. It has now expanded worldwide. The One UI 9 update for the Galaxy A27 is about 2.2GB and has firmware version A276BXXU3BZIF. However, it is still on the September 5 security patch. As usual, you can check if your unit has received the update by going to Settings, then Software Update, and then Download and Install.

As this is a major OS update, it is better to connect the phone to a stable Wi-Fi network. One UI 9 doesn’t bring major UI changes like One UI 8.5, but there are notable improvements, DeX improvements, and updates to the Samsung App Suite.

The update brings Android 17

One UI 9 brings more Quick Panel customization options where you can rearrange and resize the tiles to your liking. The Samsung Notes app is seeing an overhaul with a cleaner layout. While One UI 9 also brings new AI features, they are not available on the Galaxy A27. You can find them in the Galaxy S and Z series models.

Privacy gets an upgrade with a location indicator that pops up in your status bar when an app accesses your location in the background. Furthermore, accessibility options also get refinements with One UI 9.

Samsung may soon expand One UI 9 to more devices worldwide. While this upgrade may not be flashy, leaks claim that One UI 10 will bring significant changes when it arrives. We can’t wait to see what Samsung has in store for its users.
