Samsung’s most affordable phones are now less affordable

Prices continue to rise on all kinds of consumer electronics products and the latest on the Samsung side of things is its series of affordable phones in the Galaxy A series, which are now reported to see a price increase to offset the rising cost of manufacturing components such as RAM and storage. In recent days, Samsung has started to increase the price of its flagship Galaxy S26 family of devices in several regions, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and its home country of South Korea.

While these devices were already expensive to begin with, having launched with higher price tags compared to last year’s Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has increased them again, with most variants now costing $100 more in the US. Those looking for Samsung’s more affordable phones won’t pay as much, but they will now pay more.

Samsung announces price increase for Galaxy A57 5G, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A27, and Galaxy A17 5G

While you may think that Samsung will keep the tactic of raising prices on its more high-end flagship devices like the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, that’s not the case at all, as Samsung is raising prices on every Galaxy A series phone from 2026, including its least expensive model, the Galaxy A17 5G. It used to cost $199.99 when it came back in January of this year, but was raised to $249.99 in recent months, and is now $279.99. So all told it’s $80 more than it was at the beginning of the year.

As for the rest of the series, the Galaxy A57 5G now starts at $599.99, the Galaxy A37 5G starts at $489.99, and then the Galaxy A27 is now $379.99. These prices are for the 128GB models of each device. That being said, the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 also come in 256GB models, and prices for those are now $679.99 and $609.99, respectively.
