Where do you find models for 3D printing? Assuming you don’t always design your own, that is. It’s a question we asked a while ago (Bambu launched their own platform shortly after). And now there are even several sites that promise to generate a perfect, 3D-printable model on demand. It seems an increasingly crowded space to launch a new platform. But it seems that Snapmaker is not one to back down from a challenge.
Today, Snapmaker announced the open beta of Snapmaker Space. They built a collection of 2,500 for the launch, which seems like a decent number to start with. To encourage contributions, they offer reward points for user submitted designs that go viral. Designs that use different colors (ie, designs that play well with the Snapmaker’s strengths) get extra points.
