The OLED MacBook Pro may not be much thinner than the current model

Apple’s long-rumored OLED MacBook Pro, which will be its first laptop with a touchscreen, may not be much thinner than the current model, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He thus contradicted his own predictions, now saying that he does not think “it will end up being significantly thinner”.

For reference, the current MacBook Pro 14″ is 15.5mm thick and weighs between 1.55kg and 1.62kg, while the 16-inch model is 16.8mm thick and weighs between 2.14kg and 2.15kg.

A few days ago, Gurman said that Apple will launch the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro with the OLED touchscreen sometime in November. They should be powered by Apple’s M6 series chips and ship with macOS 27.2 pre-installed.
