In addition to the Pan Am Automatic GMT, Timex has launched a new non-automatic GMT watch in the United States in collaboration with the historic airline Pan Am. The Pan Am x Timex Waterbury GMT is priced at $349 and is currently available for pre-order via the company’s official US website.

Design details

The watch has a 41mm brushed stainless steel case, measuring 48mm from lug to lug and 12mm in thickness. It weighs 140.31 grams, giving it a solid feel on the wrist. The case is paired with a 20mm stainless steel bracelet that uses a standard deployant clasp for a secure fit.

Timex also added some Pan Am branding details, including the airline’s iconic globe emblem engraved on the oversized crown and its classic logo printed on the dial.

For the display, Timex chose a silver-tone, textured white dial with full black Arabic numerals to prioritize legibility. The watch’s main feature is its GMT functionality, which allows the wearer to track a second time zone simultaneously.

This is executed via a prominent orange triangle GMT hand, which points to a two-tone black and blue 24-hour inner scale. The dial also includes a standard date window positioned at 3 o’clock. For low-light visibility, the primary hands and markers are filled with luminescent material.

Internally, the Waterbury GMT is powered by a battery-operated quartz analog movement that runs on an SR920SW battery. The dial is protected by a standard mineral glass crystal that offers basic heat and scratch resistance, but it lacks the durability of sapphire crystals typically found in higher-end watches.

In addition, the watch has a water resistance rating of 50 meters, which means it can handle light swimming or splashing, but it is not intended for diving or snorkeling.
