Xiaomi has officially started selling the Mijia High-Speed Hair Dryer Mini in China, following its initial unveiling earlier this year. The compact hair dryer has a retail price of 299 yuan ($45), with a special introductory price of 199.7 yuan ($30). The new model has a smaller and lighter design compared to the company’s existing hair dryers, making it a practical option for daily use and travel.
Mijia Hair Dryer Mini Specifications
The device weighs 270 grams, not including the power cable. Compared to the older Mijia H501, this new model is 30% smaller and 20% lighter. The exterior design includes a magnetic air inlet cover at the base of the handle.
This cover uses a double-layer microporous mesh to prevent loose hair from being pulled into the entrance. Xiaomi has also included an integrated cable tie on the power cable to keep it organized when stored. It is available in three colors: pink, purple, and off-white.

Inside, the hair dryer uses a miniature brushless motor. Xiaomi reduced the diameter of the motor by 1.8 mm compared to previous models, but it still operates at 110,000 rpm. This produces an airflow speed of 62 meters per second. According to the manufacturer’s estimates, this is enough to dry short hair in one minute, medium hair in three minutes and long hair in about five minutes.
For temperature management, the hair dryer has an NTC system that monitors the air temperature 200 times per second to maintain consistent heat and prevent hair damage. It offers two air flow speeds, four temperature modes (cool, warm, hot and alternating hot and cold), and a memory function that restores previous settings. It also includes a dedicated kids mode with gentler, cooler airflow that requires manual activation each time.

The hair dryer contains a dual-ion plasma system. It releases positive and negative ions to neutralize static electricity. Xiaomi claims this reduces frizz and improves hair strength, while it also says the system can help remove scalp impurities and mites based on its internal test conditions.
In related news, Xiaomi recently launched a new smart rice cooker with a titanium pot, variable pressure, and 14 minutes of fast cooking, in addition to a smart water purifier that detects your cup and heats water in just 3 seconds.
