Some Canadian regions experience daylight savings time, which could cause problems with your tech.
Alberta, BC, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and parts of Ontario will join Saskatchewan and the Yukon in not changing clocks in November.
Therefore, people living in these areas need to make adjustments to their Android phones and Google Calendar events, especially if you haven’t updated your phone in a while, because that’s how phones get updated time zone rules.
Because of the time change that would normally happen, your time may appear an hour late on or after November 1. If you see the wrong time, head to settings, search for date and time, and use the settings there to adjust your time. Those using older phones that no longer receive updates can turn off automatic time zones completely and set the time manually.
Those affected may also experience issues with Google Calendar, including seeing a warning badge in the calendar grid. When you open an event that you have organized, you will see a banner that allows you to move the event one hour earlier.
Google Calendar should automatically shift most affected events by one hour to their originally scheduled local times. This fix applies to single events and recurring events that have no future exceptions, such as a single rescheduled instance.
Also, in-product banners in the one-click fixer only appear on the web version of the calendar, and do not appear in the calendar app for Android, iPhone, and iPad.
To edit calendar events, you must be the organizer or have the “Make changes (view private events as free/busy)” permission on the organizer’s calendar.
